Aelia/SDA opens new CDG T3 multistore

Aelia/SDA has opened a new multi-category outlet in the non-Schengen zone in Paris Charles de Gaulle airport terminal three. The 600sq m store, which opened on November 28, offers liquor, tobacco, perfumes, cosmetics, confectionery and fine food, bringing together all core categories into a single store. The former dedicated perfumes and cosmetics unit in the non-Schengen zone in T3 has therefore been closed.

The store is run by Société de Distribution Aéroportuaire, the joint venture between Aelia and Aéroports de Paris, which operates liquor, tobacco, beauty and confectionery stores across Paris CDG and Orly airports.

Among the key non-Schengen destinations served by T3 are the United Kingdom?through low-cost carrier Easyjet?and North Africa.

Aelia/SDA took on the retail contract in T3 a year ago and also operates a multi-category store in the Schengen area. Aelia Group?s fashion subsidiary HF Phénix runs a fashion store in the non-Schengen zone.

Aelia CEO Jean-Baptiste Morin said: ?Since taking over the concession in T3 we?ve posted extremely good sales growth, which we feel we can continue through the opening of this new outlet. The passenger profile in the terminal is interesting and bringing the core categories together in a single multistore will enable us to maximise spend per head.?
